Colonial Box
NZ$1,490
Seuffert was a cabinet maker in Auckland who recieved small parcels of wood from the New Zealand native Olearia Traversii (also known as "basrtad sandalwood" by the settlers on Pitt Island). This wood was highly valued for inlaying and special work. One expert (William C ) says this is not an Anton Sueffert box because the dome is not the same closeness. And expert two (MC) says the wood is Akeake. Whatever, this 19th century dome topped box is really nice and has cast brass supporting hinges.
