Large Louis XV Crested Mirror

A Louis XV mirror with an egg and dart moulded frame, a gendarme top and a crest.

The beautiful egg and dart moulding is cut with the sharpest chisel. There is an artist, a sculptor called Gray Nicol, who can carve egg and dart as crisply as this mirror's frame demonstrates. He is a rare talent.

The gendarme top gives this mirror another dimension. The laurel leaves on the mirror's crest are perfect and radiate from a Rococo crest.

The mirror's original mercury-plate glass is faultless. A well-constructed frame has safeguarded the glass.
