French Marquetry Semainier

A seven drawer chest is called a semainier. One drawer for each day of the week, if you were ever that organised!
This Louis XV period version is a particularly fine example. Each drawer is veneered in kingwood and walnut, and features two Regency ring handles, flanking a Louis XV key escutcheon.
The marble top is about but not photographed today.
Good Louis XV feet raise this commode off the ground, creating space to lighten the piece.
