We generally buy French period commodes, so it is a treat to find a fine Louis XVI sideboard comprising two drawers and two cupboards. Each drawer is fielded with quarter-round brass moulding and decorated with Louis XVI ribbon-key escutcheons. The dresser has its original white Carrara marble, shaped at its edges to highlight the outer fluted columns. The dresser sits on turned and fluted Louis XVI feet.

Just lovely.
