This is a beautiful piece of 19th-century, top-to-bottom quality, purchased on our last foray to northern France.
Each drawer is fielded with a quarter-round brass moulding, providing depth to accommodate the Louis XVI ring handles, and features three central escutcheons, all of which have matching ribbon cresting.
Fluted columns adorn the front corners of the commode, leading downward to turned and fluted feet that lift the commode and add a lightness to the overall look of the chest. The piece is finished with the original Italian marble.
