This is a beautiful 19th-century Commode purchased on our last foray to northern France.
Top-to-bottom quality, the drawers are fielded with a quarter-round brass moulding, providing depth to accommodate the drawers' Louis XVI ring handles and central escutcheon, all of which have matching ribbon cresting. Fluted columns adorn the front corners of the commode, leading to turned and fluted feet that lift the commode and add a lightness to the overall look of the piece. Original Italian marble.
