Although this style is referred to as a "Dutch" commode, this is actually a Gustavian (Swedish) commode, purchased in Sweden earlier this year. Two short drawers over two long drawers are fitted with their original handles. The fixed lines of the drawers accentuate the distinctive curves of the whole piece.
The light yet patinated finish can add a striking, naturalistic touch in a room full of contemporary pieces.
