Marble-Topped Empire Console

This will look amazing in an entrance or a hall. The French do it so well, almost modern in appearance but 200 years old, with touches of Classical Greek and Roman revival. 

Top to bottom, the highest quality: Italian marble over one long drawer with an ornate escutcheon, flanked by two tapered columns with mounts and capitals, supported by a plinth base.

Some of these were fitted with mirrors to the rear so the ladies could do a twirl and check if their petticoats were showing... There's nothing wrong with a bit of twirling!
