The Louis XVI period in France was followed by the Directoire period for four or five years, when these beautiful daybeds were made ever-so-slightly plainer than the more turned and fluted Louis XVI model.
We have kept the original paint finish, and literally just sealed the old paint onto the frame. Katrina has imported this wonderful red velvet from Liverpool and recovered the frame with two loose seat cushions and two wonderfully comfortable back cushions.
Stylish, comfortable, and such good quality.
