We were asked - wait for it - to cut the end off a beautiful early 18th-century refectory table! The patina and feel of this table was amazing.
Anyway, the table sailed off to a very nice place in the Hawkes Bay and we are left with three off-cuts - so one of our clever fellows has shaped them into the most beautiful 18th-century timber chopping boards.
I think there are only four but they are so nice to touch and feel, and I'm certain they are wonderful to chop on, or serve cheese on at Christmas.
