Pierre Vandel was a famous French furniture designer in the 1960s & 70s. This is one of his iconic glass, brass and lucite coffee tables, Lucite being the trademarked, more tongue-friendly description of polymethyl methacrylate, more commonly known as acrylic. Vandel was one of the very first to use this material in furniture making.
Vandel's furniture is characterised by simple, elegant, modern lines.
