The Ottoman Empire began in the mid-1400s and appeared to fizzle out by WW1.
By all accounts not much good came from the 500 years of European domination... except a small piece of furniture called the ottoman.
This is a particularly nice ottoman, originating from France or Sweden in Louis XVI's time.
It has turned and fluted legs and Katrina has covered it in a superb natural linen.
