These Louis Philippe are the most desirable French mirrors you can buy in the trade in Brittany. Parisienne and from the 1920s, the simple mirrors were painted, the next best were finished in faux gold, the next oil gilded, and those at the top, top end of the scale were engraved and water gilded.
Here we have a beautiful example of an engraved and water-gilded frame with crosshatch decoration and beading on the inner frame surrounding the original mercury plate mirror.
