Louis XVI Console
We bought this piece many years ago in Brittany and feel good about "saving it". Originally the console was very deep, possibly intended for a hotel or chateau.
A member of our clever restoration team took to it, carefully reducing the depth but maintaining that Greco-Roman proportion that Louis XVI consoles have.
Our resident artist refinished it with a beautiful grey-green paint effect with touches of gold, and a faux parquet top.
Turned and fluted legs are supported by a stretcher base. The central urn has foliate supports.
The proportion, colour and style are absolute perfection.
