A large and impressive gilded mirror from the Louis Phillipe period.
When you go to France most of the mirrors are ornate; the more desirable plain ones are much harder to find.
The mouldings on this mirror are subtle and very clever. The central Greek key pattern is flanked by two completely different mouldings. The outer hook and chain pattern is particularly nice and complements the inner beaded moulding.
At 1560mm tall and 1100mm wide this is a stunning mirror.
