Jacobean-Style Trough or Planter

Katrina has written Jacobean but I think this is French inspired by the Roman Period or even the Gauls. Or possibly Frankish 486-987.

I suspect someone has taken a mould from a very early carved trough and cast this.

It possibly would have been raised on a ball or shaped feet originally- but wonderful.
