Pierre Vandel was a famous French furniture designer in the 1960s & 70s. This is one of his iconic glass, brass and lucite coffee tables, Lucite being the trademarked, more tongue-friendly description of polymethyl methacrylate, more commonly known as acrylic. Vandel was one of the very first to use this material in furniture making. Furniture with simple, elegant, modern lines.
