Vitrine
Purchased in northern France near the Brittany-Normandy border, a quality mid-19th century French oak vitrine.
You need to look at the photographs closely to see the finishing touches that only the French do. The feet taper to the ground but raise the vitrine, creating a space. The corner styles of the cabinet are fielded to give the appearance of a column and these fitted panels flank the two glazed doors, each with lower fielded blind panels.
The top of the cabinet is plain and understated although it can also be ebonised and gilded if you so wish.
