A beautiful bleached walnut French Louis Philippe period commode, shown here without its marble top.
The flat-fronted top drawer has applied wooden moulding, creating two fielded panels flanking a round panel, housing a central key escutcheon. The moulding on each drawer adds a sense of depth and borders a pair of round Regency handles and subtle inlaid brass escutcheons.
The entire chest is raised on period Louis Philippe feet. Exceptional quality and a lovely muted colour.
