Oak Dining Table

I have been looking at Refectory Tables for 33 years and never found a table to rival the one sitting in a friend's house The friend's table is most definitely not for sale and so I have waited....... 

Last Christmas I was rewarded with this amazing find: the perfect model, dating from the 16th or 17th centuries. 

Made of oak, with a planked top and beautiful stretcher base, it is testimony to the engineering skill and design ability of those early craftsmen.
