19th Century Directoire Period Ebonised Semainier

Francophiles will know that a semainier has one drawer for each day of the week - la semaine.

Each drawer is fielded with a shaped moulding in ormolu brass and finished with ring handles and Louis XlV escutcheons.

Standing on tapered legs and brass-tipped feet, these tall narrow commodes are very popular.
