Bureau Plat
It is not until you look at the last close-up photograph that you see the true quality of this beautifully simple French Empire, Louis XVI walnut bureau plat.
The desk has a black and gold embossed leather top with brass quarter-round moulding - something only the French would do. The two short drawers, again fielded with quarter-round brass mouldings, are raised on four turned and fluted walnut legs with strong brass mounts. Perfect!
