Transitional Commode
A Transitional commode, characterised by the centre third of its front breaking forward. Louis XV commodes generally have a bombe front. Transitional was a very attractive stage of design.
I don't think I have ever had a Transitional commode quite like this one with its small and pleasing proportions.
It is inlayed with all sorts of timbers, including walnut and kingwood.
The two drawers have their original Regency ring handles.
Very attractive.
