Georgian Dresser Base
NZ$2,950
30 years ago I commissioned two of these cabinets. A customer ordered one, so I made two - copies of a museum-quality Welsh Dresser Base.
An English joiner/cabinet maker made them for me using Forestry Research Institute plantation oak dating from the 1880s, ie very heavy oak.
NZ grown oak is twice the density and seven times the tensile strength of English oak.
Anyway, one short drawer is flanked by two longer drawers over three cupboards with fielded panels. The dresser sits on style feet.
In about 1990, my father bought the second dresser to help me stay in business after the '80s crash.
Due to the fact Dad no longer needs the Dresser, it is for sale to another good home.
