Serpentine-Fronted Commode
The French version of these tall chests are called semainiers because they have seven drawers. However, this six drawer chest was bought in Sweden.
In England we might call its shape serpentine fronted, but in France they say 'in the manner of a bow and arrow'. How's your Swedish?
Actually, when this piece was built, the part of Sweden where it was purchased was part of Denmark. Confused?
A lovely six drawer Swedish commode finished in matt black with original handles and escutcheons.
