Directoire Commode
The Directoire Period is one of my favourite design phases.
This commode is so modern for something 200 years old. The hexagonal-mounted brass handles complement the gold-edged fielded panels and the simple ormolu key escutcheons.
The original Italian marble top and black lacquer finish give this piece such presence.
