18th Century French Walnut Stool
You have to get up very early to buy these beautiful pieces. We purchased this gorgeous Louis XIV walnut double-ended stool from an antique fair in Brittany.
We get up at 4am, arrive at the Fair at 5am and get in the exhibitors' queue because the exhibitors are allowed in to the Fair at 6am. The buyers are let in at 7am but between 6am and 7am all the beautiful pieces are snapped up by the trade.
The proportions, the timber and the carving of this piece are all perfect. The stool can be refinished and reupholstered to suit.
