Exceptional Bureau Plat

A very fine early 19th century or late 18th century bureau plat finished in kingwood veneer.

This piece is the real deal! Originally purchased from a chateau, I found it in Le Mans, France, where it was the pick of the entire fair.

This bureau plat's lovely features include: three shaped drawers to its front, with excellent ormulu key escutcheons, and three blind drawers to its back. The corners of the desk have beautiful ormulu mounts and matching ormulu feet. The gold embossed leather insert is surrounded by smooth ormulu mouldings.
