Serpentine-Fronted French Commode
This is THE model. My French is not good enough but they say that this commode is shaped in the manner of a crossbow. We call it serpentine-fronted in English, the French call it arbalete, but it is a nicer shape than that suggests.
Louis XlV carved feet and a Gustavian grey finish.
A very very nice early 19th century piece.
