Louis Philippe Crested Gold Mirror

The perfect model - a shouldered and crested Louis Philippe mirror, with inner beading and a very crisp rococo foliate scroll, cornice moulding and original mercury glass (now mirrors are silver).

A very nicely proportioned piece with a strong border moulding that's not too ornate. The mirror's finish is water gilding over leafed sheets of gold rubbed back to allow the red bole clay to show through the gold. Gorgeous!
