Jacobean Chest

If this chest could talk it would tell you it was born in the mid 1660s, a mere 350 years ago, and that it has had several delighted owners over the centuries.

The chest has four long drawers of solid quarter sawn oak, with central period runners, each with differing geometric mouldings and star shaped drop handles and pierced escutcheons to the second and fourth drawers.

Our man Stefan has waxed the chest and it is glowing. It needs several more waxes to really bring it to life.

These early chests have panelled ends supported by mortice and tenon framing and bun feet.
