Large Louis Philippe Mirror with Gendarme Top
For all you people who ask, "John, can you please get me a tall French mirror that I can lean against the wall?", here it is!
2350mm tall - massive!
An early 19th century French mirror with a gendarme top (in the shape of a French policeman's hat). The frame features two distinctive mouldings - an external pie crust moulding and an inner, fine rococo one.
The mirror has that shagged gold over gesso finish.
The glass is a later silver plate addition.
