Large French Empire Red Walnut Bureau Plat
A large French Empire bureau plat with three fancy drawers to the front and matching panels to the rear (looks fantastic in the middle of a room). Each drawer is finished with French Empire brass escutcheons and keys. The desk's tapered legs are supported with lion claw feet and Classical mounts.
The bureau plat is made of red walnut. Its top is the original green, inlaid and tooled leather with ornate brass thumbnail moulding.
A very special piece.
