Louis XIV Painted Commode
Purchased in Brittany, a lovely Louis XIV commode.
This chest has features of both the Louis XIV and XV periods - each drawer has carved fielded panels and Louis XV handles and escutcheons.
The bombe feature of the commode embues the chest with grace and proportion. Its Louis XIV feet are beautifully carved.
