Chestnut Armoire

This is very old and very good quality. A period Louis XlV pale chestnut one door armoire (or bonnetiere).

It must have been out of a very special home or chateau as the quality of the hinges and the length of the pierced escutcheons is unusual. The colour of the timber is also unusual, it is very pale for chestnut, yet it has a presence, with its fielded door with central medallion and the strong Louis XlV cornice.
