Pair of French Louis XIV-Style Gessoed Commodes
I purchased this wonderful pair of bedsides in Normandy. Despite their lovely proportions they are not very old, probably dating from the mid 20th century.
The commodes, with their small pleasing proportions and beautiful carving have been finished in a gesso finish with a grey overglaze.
