Gustavian Grey Mirror

Dated slightly later than the plain Louis Philippe period, perhaps 1850. This mirror retains the Louis Philippe shape with inner beading on the frame, and original mercury glass. Later mirrors are silver.

The frame is embellished with a restrained foliate carved border, which is highlighted by the gesso and overglaze finish.
