Period Adam Mirror

A fantastic late Georgian, period Adam mirror. The pedimental top is carved with a central sunburst motif with cornucopia either side. Beneath is a delicately rendered frieze in a garland and festoon combination. The frame is ornately detailed and carved with several motifs including egg and dark moulding, dentil moulding, and a running laurel wreath design punctuated by medallions in each corner around the glass. The base corners of the frame are finished with laurel leaves arranged in a sun-ray design that echo the pediment top. This is a truly beautifully designed mirror. Currently on display at La Cigale in Parnell.
