Pair French Candlesticks
A pair of 19th century French candlesticks, made with marble shaft and base with brass cap and feet. Although these were made almost a century after Napoleon's invasion of Egypt, they nevertheless exhibit French fascination with the country. Key features of the style are the lion paws for the base, and a recurring palmette motif.
